A few questions:
I've been trying to repair a pst file with the outlook repair tool (I think it's called scanpst.exe). Since my problem is at work, I haven't had enough time for the tool to complete the 16 phases in my presence. I ran the tool overnight and then ran the repair process when I returned in the morning. Unfortunately, there was an error causing it to close and I had to start the scan/repair process all over again. Then, when I was in the repair phases again, due to a winter storm, the power went off briefly resulting in the pc rebooting and I had to start all over again. So, it was still in the scanning phases (stage 6 I believe) when I left work. I hope to start the repair phases in the morning when I return.
Question 1) with all that's happened will this likely be a success and I'll have my personal folders back?
2) if it fails what experience do others have using third party repair tools for pst corruption/repair?
3) I can't use third party software at work since I'm unable to install any programs in the limited user account; so, if I need to bring the pst file home via flash drive for repair , can I use outlook 2007 to access the personal folders assuming a successful repair process. I am using outlook 2010 at work however I believe this same pst file has been with me since outlook 2003 or longer.
This is my first experience having this problem. Any and all suggestions, ideas, etc are welcomed and appreciated.
regards, planet
