I am running Win8 on my other notebook, and also have Bitlocker enabled with no PIN, only in TPM Mode Only.
I also have this security setting called under Account Lockout Policy/Account Lockout Threshold = to 3.
Then I have what's called under the Security Options: Interactive logon: Machine account lockout threshold set to 10.
Now my question here being, is this setting referring to only if I set Bitlocker to use a PIN before the Windows logon? Correct me if I am wrong, but if the setting under Interactive logon: Machine account lockout threshold is set to 10 (with BitLocker enabled) will this override the Account Lockout Threshold to also 10? Or would the "10" mean how many bad BitLocker PIN code entries are made BEFORE the actual Windows Logon appears? But I do not have a BitLocker PIN set anyways. Would this also mean that one can have "10" password tries during the Windows Logon prompt or is this setting only means if one has BitLocker set to use a TPN and PIN?
Please someone explain this since I read this so many times on many articles, that I still do not understand.
If Account Lockout Threshold (which I set to 3), will it be now set to 10 since I changed the policy under the Interactive logon: Machine account lockout threshold?
