This is perhaps a dumb question, however I have not been able to find an answer so I'm going to ask it anway.
So I'm looking at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products" in the registry. I have a long list of hex product codes, let's say "70DC23D9C5AE97A49B670C7C9F57DE4E" for this example. The associated application is Adobe Flash Plugin 12.0.7, which has a cooresponding GUID of {9D32CD07-EA5C-4A79-B976-C0C7F975EDE4}.
How did we get from 9D32C..... to 70DC23.... ? Is it a completely randomly generated value when the application is installed, or something else?
