I installed Linux Mint LMDE onto an external 120 GB HD earlier this year. The install process put some Grub in my disk0 "C" drive that sends the boot process to the external HD for a menu that gives a choice of Mint (default) and by using the arrow keys an option of Win7. If this external HD is not turned on the boot process will stop at this point and just sit there. Trying to change the menu to have Win7 as a default I borked the Mint install and I would like to rid of this Grub in the boot process so that the computer will boot normally as it used to. Then I will Backup the System Reserve Partition only for safety and likely install a different Linux to the external HD.
How can I get my boot process back to where it should be.
I do not have a backup from before the LMDE install. I only keep the last three months backups.
