[WIN7] Problems with printer queue

On my wife's laptop (windows 7 64 bit, home edition) her connection to the usb attached Lexmark S600 printer is acting very weird. I access the same printer via wireless from my pc (windows 7 64 bit pro) and do not have any issues. I have read all sorts of "how to fix stuck printer queues" and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer on her pc a couple of times. Here is what happens: The first document she prints works just fine. Goes into the queue, goes to the printer, the queue clears out, everything appears normal. Her second print job (doesn't matter if the first job is done or not) hangs. No error messages appear. Files stay in the c:\windows\system32\spool\printer. And in the printer properties window it says the file is "printing." But it isn't. and it doesn't. I have stopped the Print Spooler service and then started it. Doesn't matter. I have cancelled the job and it just sits there saying it is cancelling, but it doesn't. I have checked her spoolss.dll and spoolsv.exe and they are identical to the ones I have on my pc. (I used winmerge to examine the differences and they came up identical). Just for grins I got rid of hers and copied mine to her pc. Sometimes, once a file gets stuck, I can restart the printer spooler and the printer starts to make appropriate noises, but nothing else happens. If I try to print something from my machine at that point, it tells me the printer is busy and I need to wait. I have gone into the registry, located HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Spooler and the DependOnService is set to RPCSS and http on both our machines as is the imagepath being set to "%SystemRoot%\System32\spoolsv.exe" In my searching I found and have run a cmd file (as administrator) when the files get stuck which stops the printer spooler service, deletes the files in the queue and restarts the service. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @echo offecho Stopping print spooler.echo.net stop spooler echo Erasing Temporary Junk Printer Documentsecho.del /Q /F /S %systemroot%\System32\Spool\Printers\*.* echo Starting print spooler.echo.net start spooler------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It seems to work but the next file I try to print from her pc just gets stuck again. The only way to unstick it is run that and restart her pc. naturally, restarting your pc everytime you want to print more than one file is a bit much to ask. I am at a loss. I have tried everything I can think of. I have researched it and tried things which should work, but nothing seems to. I need another set of eyes looking at this for me. What else can I do? (yes, I should mention I updated her Lexmark drivers.) why does it print from my pc but not hers. Just for grins, one of the times I uninstalled her printer, I reinstalled it and set it up as wireless without a direct connection via usb. I thought since that was how I was connecting from my PC, maybe that would work from hers. No. Exact same thing happens. Because I can print to the printer without issue, I think it is a microsoft issue. But maybe not. Help, please.
