I'm running windows 8.1, and frankly am tired of apps not following my systems sound settings.
I recently added 5.1 speakers to my system, and in the setting for them, I have 5.1 turned on, and forced, or however its expressed.
The problem:
Only some apps seem to comply.
Mozilla - Yes
Pandora - Yes
Chrome - No
Spotify - No
Amazon music - No
I could go on and on. I have scoured the web for each non-compliant app, seen many posts on how to fix it, none have worked.
Some offer up settings in the app, some offer command line switches, some refer to soundcard settings, whatever. Not a single solution works.
Some apps comply, some do not.
Why don't the apps comply with the OS? How are they not complying with the OS? Any hope of a fix?
