[Excel] Cutting and inserting a group of cells (or rows)

Using Excel 2003 (??), if I highlighted and cut rows 5-7, then clicked row 2 and then clicked the Insert icon, the contents of rows 5-7 appeared on rows 2, 3 and 4 and the former row 2 became row 5 (if that makes any sense). Now that I use Excel (2010??) I can't get a series of rows that I cut to insert. How do I do that? Thanks!
