Hi all. I use to have an MSDN subscription, however that has since expired, and I currently don't have the funds to renew it. and I'm waiting for my school to re-add me to their dreamspark premium subscription. In the meantime, I wanted to make sure I had a current iso for windows 8.1. I used the Microsoft tool for creating installation media for windows 8.1, and after the .iso was created from that tool, I couldn't help but notice that the file sizes between the windows 8.1 pro with update .iso file I originally got from MSDN, and this new .iso I created with Microsoft's tool are way different. My MSDN file is 3.83GB in size, while the download from Microsoft's tool is just 3.27GB. My thinking may be off here, but shouldn't I have downloaded the same file with Microsoft's media creation tool that I would've obtained via MSDN? I'd think that would be the latest available official .iso image and therefore the .iso that would be available publicly? These are both for windows 8.1 pro 64 bit BTW. I know my MSDN download is good, but has anyone downloaded windows 8.1 pro 64 bit with Microsoft's new media creation tool, and if so what differences are there between that and the MSDN image? Just trying to determine which image I should trust more to be current. Thanks.
