At my work, we use Outlook for our email. If I delete something from my Inbox, it gets deleted from my "Deleted Items" folder after a certain amount of days. Sometimes I realize weeks later I needed an email but it's gone.
At my old job, which had a similar delete policy, I remember I set my computer up to save a copy of the email to my local hard drive. I think I had the Indexing icon next to the clock which accomplished that. This was a few years ago, so I don't remember what steps I did to solve this. It basically allowed me to view the emails inside of Outlook as if I never deleted them or if they were never purged. Since it saved a local copy to my main computer, if I used our Outlook webmail on my phone or someone else's computer, the emails obviously wouldn't show up, which is ok/FAD.
