I have a Lenovo G770 laptop that I would like to reinstall with Windows 8.1. Originally, it came preinstalled with Windows 7 Home (still has the sticker with the registration number under the laptop), but I wiped it clean and installed Ubuntu on it. Now, I'd like to wipe the drive clean once again, and install the latest version of Windows.
Is the easiest and least expensive way to do this to buy a DVD copy of Windows 8.1 and perform a clean install this way?

And my employer uses a Windows environment, using Windows 7 with a MS backend network. Would it be wise to spend the extra few dollars and get the 8.1 Pro version to be able to interface with the network?
And finally, will 8.1 include all the needed drivers for Lenovo's G770 model? Or would I need to independently install the drivers for Lenovo's hardware? My hope this is a clean install... and then done and use it.
