View files on a device without a drive letter

I copied a bunch of music from my iTunes library to my phone (SD card on my Moto G Gen 2). I'd like to verify I didn't copy some files that are unneeded. The problem is, I can't find software that lets me view the whole drive. The phone, when connected as USB, just shows up as a device, not a drive letter. I tried both an old copy of Ztree and WinDirStat, but they only can see drive letters. I see no way to assign a drive letter the phone or even the SD Card 'share' on it. I don't even see a way of setting it from a command prompt. Generally, the idea was to see all files on the card, sort or somehow view by extension, so I can see if I have any unneeded files. All I want are the .m4a files, and maybe some .mp3's from other sources. I know I could remove the SD card and plug it into a card reader, but would like to see if I could avoid that.
