I'm not impressed. It's ugly and not the least bit inspiring. On Spartan I couldn't see anyway to have any menus or find a way to have a home button despite a 'settings' tab. I suppose Cortana and the 'inking' feature will be ok but I really don't see using it either of them. I like certain ideas like floating apps and multiple desktops but the start menu really doesn't do it at all for me (I'm sure I'd use Classic Shell if I used it). They certainly should have an option to have a Windows 7 "classic" start menu. I've heard that they haven't ruled out Spartan for Windows 7 if demand is there but I hope it wouldn't have to replace IE 11. It was a relief to get back to using Windows 7 after trying out the preview. I'll take my free license (hopefully via a valid key) and keep it for a rainy day.
