Hi everyone. I'm new here and hoping one of you experts can help me solve this weird MTU issue that can never ping twice again using same MTU number after its been set. It was originally at 1500 but once I tried the command "ping google.com -f -l 1500" it gave me that "packet neeeds to be fragmented" message so I started to mess with numbers until 0 loss and I did but once I set that number and restarted.. I tried google ping with same MTU number but nope message with 100% loss.
Everytime I set the MTU with this command quote:netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "Local Area Connection" mtu=1490 store=persistent and try the ping again quote:ping google.com -f -l 1490 it never works twice gives me "Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set" message again. I tried restarting PC but never works again. Here's MTU Numbers that worked for me on the google ping but once I set it to that number It never works on google ping again
1472, 1400, 1416, 1380

Can someone PLEASE tell me what could be wrong or what settings I need to change to it works everytime.. reason for changing MTU is to see if it fixes online gaming issue.
I was having GTA V game online issues with servers giving me alot of "Timed Out sessions". So I had tried a couple of things and it seemed to fix it better by placing me in bigger lobbies & less timed out session messages but just not completely. I did some research online and they also said changing MTU might fix it. Here's my settings and what I did so far
1) I Disabled kaspersky anti-virus & Malwarebytes
2) On My Killer e2200 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20) configuration "Advanced" properties. I disabled pretty much everything except Flowcontrol I enabled

3). Tried Port Forwarding although not sure if it's even working correctly. I have Arris TG1672G router/modem. Its setup to work with echo networking like Moca (ISP brighthouse installed it)
& said to place these ports in screenshot below on "Virtual Servers" & port triggers

== My Router's Firewall Settings===
Everything enabled except DDOS protection
[att=4]
5) I also heard enabling DMZ settings on router might help GTA online issues but don't really know how to mess with that. So on my router settings thats not enabled

I also disabled UPnP on router + Nat mode its set RoutedWithNat
[att=7]
I also read that changing Nat mode to bridge mode may fix some online GTA V game issues but when i tried that.. I can no longer log onto my router settings via 192.168.0.1. It would time out and can no longer go online. tried witing 30 minutes,rebooting router and still nothing so I had to reset my router to get online again and restore settings.
