[WIN7] Technical issue with GTA V and My Docs location

This is more of a technical question so I decided to put it here instead of the gaming forum. I've been using D:\ as the location of Documents for at least 10 years, changing the location in its folder properties. Virtually all PC games create a folder and files for the games' custom settings and saves in your My Documents folder, usually My Documents\gamename or My Documents\MyGames\gamename or something similar. While I occasionally run into issues with games (mostly Unreal Engine 3-based) not initially creating these settings files under D:\, there is almost always a simple, one-time workaround that fixes it each game. However GTA V won't even launch unless the location of My Docs is set to, and ONLY to, the default location of C:\users\username\Documents. The Rockstar Social Club app, which runs prior to opening GTA and resembles the thankfully discontinued Games for Windows Live, crashes before it even begins launching the actual game. If i set the location of Documents to the default, it works fine, but then none of the save games or custom settings configured for any of the 10 other games I have installed are recognized (their files are still located on D:\ and I assume the games look for %USERPROFILE%\Documents, which then would resolve to C:\users\username\Documents) I believe Max Payne 3 (another Rockstar game) suffered the same problem, but since I only played single player and beat it in a short amount of time it was a temporary inconvenience. I beat the game in a few days and probably didn't play any other games during that period. GTA V is a game of absolute epic scale and I will be playing it for a very long time. Changing the location of My Docs every single time i launch it and having to change it back every time i want to play any other game is really wearing thin. Is there a way I can have GTA look at the default C:\users\username\Documents folder, which it considered "My Documents" while maintaining D:\ as my Documents folder so all other games will work seamlessly? Keeping the files physically located on D is a must (it's my mechanical drive and storage is at a premium on my boot SSD). For as well-performing and smooth as the gameplay has been with the GTA 5 PC port, it's extremely awkward to navigate menus and the rigid, non-variable location of My Documents is supremely frustrating.
