I converted email from IMAP to exchange 2010, and am having problems with public folders.
I exported folders from the IMAP account, and then imported them into public folders. This appeared to work fine, but then I discovered a problem:
New items copied into a converted folder would show up in Outlook Web Access, and in Outlook 2007 - but not Outlook 2010. Items copied into a newly created folder had no issue.
I eventually figured out that Outlook 2010 had a filter applied to the converted folder. It is an "Advanced" filter: "IMAP Status equals Unmarked". If I remove that filter, the newly copied items do show.
Then I found another problem. For newly copied items, the "delete" option is grayed out in both Outlook 2007 and 2010. But if I right-click on the item in 2010, there is an "undelete" option. Outlook Web Access allows the "delete" option.
So, it appears the folders have some sort of old IMAP property to them that got carried over in the conversion, and do not behave "properly" - or at least not as I want, and not as newly-created folders do.
In Outlook 2010 if I right-click on one of the converted folders, I have "IMAP folders..." in the context menu. But selecting it doesn't do anything.
I have tried exporting and reimporting the public folders using Outlook 2007 and 2010, hoping that would drop the IMAP property, but after re-importing I have the same issue.
Any suggestions?
