How do I do CHKDSK C: /F
I have tried 4 times. On each occasion, after the restart, the screen says "Disk check cancelled"
That screen disappears too quickly for me to see if there are any problem indicators.
How do I tell it to just do the check and not cancel?
The file system is probably fine. But it is almost a year since I last did this (and it worked back then but found a few minor problems), so I figure it is about time.
And no, I cannot boot from the install media, because Dell would not provide those (even at extra cost). And no, I cannot do this from recovery media, because it gives an error. A google lookup of that error indicates that this revovery media problem was common for Dell computers at the time.
And, no, I don't want to take the disk out and check in another computer, because this is a laptop so a bit tricky to take out components.
