Hey guys, Google did not help much as it did not answer the actual question that I have. I know what the differnce between what a portable app and a fulling installable app, but the question that I have is this. I have noticed that from a size perspective the "Portable" version seems much smaller in the amount of disk used where as installing using the installation of the app appears much larger. So my question is this... Is there any reason why I can not just create a folder say under program files, extract the contents of the Portable version to this folder, create a shortcut to the executable in to the start menu, desktop of pin to sar bar? Or must a really install the app from the installation app? I would like to do that because as I stated about the portable version seems to be much smaller, and I need to save disk right now where ever I can get it since both my drives are running out of space and can't a larger disk. I have a NAS device, but I haven't been able to afford lately (or anytime soon) sadly. I am interested in what you guys think. In theory I would think this should work no problem, but I wanted to ask before I do something I may regret. I do not want to install this on a thumb drive. but then that just made me recall something. Do Portable apps need something that gets in the thumb drive that allows the portable app to load and run that would not be on the PC itself, like it's own little OS and launcher? Thanks a ton guys! -- Life is a giant fish bowl... There is no way out but up..
