I researched this a bit before I tried but things didnt go as planned. Have been using Outlook on a XP machine for quite some time and need to move it to a new Windows 8 machine that does not have Outlook.
I saved the PST files and brought them over to the Windows 8 machine. The stock email client in windows 8 only allows IMAP connections which will not work for this particular ISP email service.
I then downloaded windows live mail client. Apparently I can not import Outlook settings / files. Just Outlook Express. Is there something I am missing here? Did I miss an export step within Outlook itself that I should have done instead of grabbing the PST files that would allow it to import into WLM?
If I did manage to have IMAP on the ISP email service and was able to use the stock email client in 8, would the client then allow me to import the Outlook files?
