I went back to windows 7 from windows 10 today and it looks like my PC is hosed. Before I upgraded to win 10 I made a full backup of my system. One of several problems now is that the backup and restore function will not work at all. It will not respond in control panel. Once I click on it nothing happens. There is no error message and there is no indication that Ive even clicked on it it just sits there. Ive let it set for about 30 minutes and nothing happens.
The next problem is that Adobe Reader will not install on my machine and I cannot access PDF files. When I try to download and install the program it gives me a message saying that I have a later version installed and the installation will now end. Went to programs and features in control panel and sure enough Adobe Reader ver, IX shows to be installed. So I click on it to uninstall and get an error message saying the resource I am trying to access in not available on this network make sure the address is correct and you have permission to access it.
Third problem Firefox was completely hosed. After reverting back to win 7 firefox would not run at all. Clicking on the firefox icon brought up a blank page and nothing else and it locked up the whole PC. I could not shut down firefox and not even task manger would come up. I had to manually power cycle the PC to get out of it. I was able to reinstall firefox and that seems to have fixed that problem. So far it seems to be working like it should.
I ran SFC and it reported that it found corrupted files and repaired some of them, but it does not tell you what it fixed and what files were corrupt but not repaired. I could not find any log entries that give me a clue.
