About a week ago now, I upgraded from Office 2013 to Office 2016. When I launch Word, I notice the following two events are logged.
The first one is an error

The 2nd one is a warning

What is interesting is I don't see the "AirSpaceChannel" in the event log viewer. I also don't see "EventLog-AirSpaceChannel" either.
In looking at the events, it notes the file "AirSpaceChannel.etl" is located at C:\Windows\System32\winevt\Logs. Going to that location, I notice this

The thing I notice right away is that all of the other event logs have an EVTX extension, while this one has the older ETL extension.
So, I figured I would try to open the log inside of event viewer (right-click on the top level of the event viewer, and select "open saved log". I am able to open it, and view the contents of the log.
There is over 7,000 entries.

Below are details of the two types
One is Verbose

One is Information

In doing some more research, I came across this page
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-networking/office-2016-airspacechannel-event-log-error/b76775e3-3b41-4ff9-a77f-a8a8c489415f?auth=1
Btw, don't google "OfficeAirSpace" as you won't find anything at all related to Microsoft Office or the Air Space log. You will however, find all kinds of info on Office Air Space travel! :) I had to search using "EventLog-AirSpaceChannel".
In that article, the one person mentioned they found an entry in the performance monitor, under Startup Event Trace Sessions. Sure enough, I have one in there called "EventLog-AirSpaceChannel".

While I can delete it, and the problem will go away, I wonder why Office 2016 put it there (I know it was not there prior to me going to Office 2016). Also, what purpose is it suppose to do, and why would it not be working?
Thanks in advance,
