Yesterday my Win10 laptop restarted itself and had the kind of on-screen messages that I might see when windows is applying updates. I don't know if it said "updating" on the screen but it was that kind of message that Windows was busy doing something and that I should wait. I did wait and it didn't take long but it restarted just as it would with a forced update. I do have automatic updates turned on. The computer was on but I wasn't busy using it at the time...so it behaved as it would if it were a Windows UPdate.
Yesterday was Dec 4.
The newest item in my Windows Update History is Dec 3. Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3116908)
I checked Event Viewer immediately after I checked UPdate History when the PC restarted and there were no critical events, such as overheating, that would have caused a restart.
what did I observe?
