I was trying to do updates and got an error 802..... (didn't note it) and it said to check the BITS (Background intelligent Transfer Service. It was set to manual and not started. The error look-up said if this is the case, then suspect a virus ... Did a few reboots, same thing. Disabled a few SharePoint start up things and now the updates are working again with the BITS in the exact same state as it was before, huh?
I'll try to put back the SharePoint things, but will be surprised if that makes a difference.
