It seems Microsoft is further dumbing down our options with Windows 10 by removing the granular options found in Windows 7, which would allow Do you want Windows to download driver software and realistic icons for your devices to offer the following choices:
- Yes.
- No...
- but always install the best driver from Windows Update
- Only install the driver if it's not on my computer
- Just no.
- Oh, and Replace generic device icons with enhanced icons
That's basically four options right there.
But now with Windows 10 your choices are:
- Yes.
- No. Just No.
Does anyone know how to get the Windows 7 functionality with registry keys?
I want No, only install the driver if it's not on my computer, and replace generic icons with enhanced icons.
