...put together my new build.
He is convinced that I must have a 512 GB SSD will I can see no reason for anything over 256GB for a Windows 10 install. Since this is the first time that I have picked out the parts for a build I would like to have an opinion someone more experienced than I before I go against what the builder who obviously knows more than I do. What I have on my present Desktop is below. It has 8GB of RAM and a one tetra HHD.
C drive on computer 2015 170 GB used on disk
Windows.old 887 MB after clean install of Win10 from a previous Win10
Windows.old.000 64.5GB after update from Win7 HP.
SubTotal 65.387GB
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Folders
50th party pics 2.14GB
50th pics 3.01BG
Gifs & etc .0274GB
My Pics 1.69GB
Pics 1 2.14GB
Pics 0 .804GB
Utilities .885GB
Wallpaper .132GB
Subtotal 10.8284GB
Total of unneeded 75.2GB
Total Win10 needs 95.8GB including what I will keep of above folders
Used on this desktop 170GB
minus unneeded 95.475GB
Total needed Win10 74.5GB
Shud not use over 80% of SSD or 205 GB. So if I allow 170GB for Win10 Partition and 30GB for Linux Mint I should be OK.
After looking at this before posting I can see that there is more math than shown but I hope it will be clear enough to get an opinion from you.
