Got a new PC with Win 7 Pro pre-installed. Came with an 8.1 upgrade disk. Also eligible for the free Win 10 upgrade for the next 2 months.
I installed Win 10 + Classic Shell, and after a lot of tweaking it seems to be fairly usable.
But, before I start moving my apps and data from my old PC, I'm thinking of just wiping and doing the factory-recovery back to Win 7 (and then maybe 8.1 + classic shell) because I just read articles about Win 10 automatically uninstalling programs.
But I also noticed most of those articles are July-Nov 2015, with virtually nothing since then.... unless my google-fu is failing me.
Is the auto-install still a problem on Win 10, or did Microsoft sneak in an on/off switch for that devil's feature?
I don't want to lose a free upgrade I'll later regret not taking, but I'm absolutely NOT willing to have Microsoft killing programs I rely on daily just because it "thinks" those problems may cause a system issue. (articles detail software being forcibly removed that was working just fine)
