[WIN10] What to do when no drivers are available?

Short and sweet, I have my older PC that is still on Windows 7. I know I could let it get the updates to nag me on to Windows 10. But what I've read on the subject implies that it would have no chipset drivers for the motherboard. Or it's onboard facilities. So, while it's still free to upgrade, would it even be worth trying? And if it doesn't work out, is there a way to extract the key for (re)use? Given its age, there is no UEFI to store the product key or anything to speak of. -- Because, f*ck Sony
