[IE] Install New Versions Automatically (IE11)

When I go to Help > About Internet Explorer there is a tick box called Install New Versions Automatically. When ticked, does this mean that it will install all the IE security updates or will it just install new versions of IE like maybe perhaps IE 12 and so on? So does this mean that it will only install Upgrades for IE, or only install the security patches for IE? I am confused. Thanks
