Windows 8 File History is cool but because it appends a timestamp to each file name it breaks on files with long path names that are near the length limit.
A potential workaround is to continue using the Windows 7 Backup type backup instead.
Windows 8 appears to be backward compatible with Windows 7 Backup (Control Panel - File History - Windows 7 File Recovery). And can be used to backup and recover files on Windows 8.
But what about going forward? Will Window 7 Backup capability continue to be included in future windows versions?
