My friends computer is working normally and she uses Chrome everyday and has no trouble reaching websites. She doesn't really use Internet Explorer very much but her Norton Antivirus was warning her that some of its protection was not installed for Internet Explorer so I opened up internet explorer to see what was going on. On the startup page it said that IE could not reach the internet. When I tried to navigate to google.com it said the same thing. However I could get to bing.com and to dslreports.com, but it would not go to yahoo.com. I suspect that there could be something wrong with the settings or worse that there's some kind of software installed that is interfering. Do you have any ideas? It's an old computer she is running Windows Vista in some kind of XP Mode. Clicking Diagnose Connection Problems doesn't help. And the computer is connected to the Internet - no issues on Chrome, etc.
