Yesterday, I installed a 2TB hard drive in my system. BIOS recognized it fine and I had no other hard ware issues.
But as soon as a booted into windows, I would get a BSOD. Just out of no where. It would happen immediately to 1 minute after the desktop appeared.
After the third time this happened, I booted into safe mode, went to disk management and initialized the hard drives (MBR vs GPT). Once I did this and booted back into normal mode, windows was fine. After I was positive of system stability, I formatted the disk.
So my question is why would an uninitialized disk cause such problems with the OS? Doesn't make much sense to me. Anyone have any insight?
