Win 10 Includes IE11 as well as Edge

Is this common knowledge, stated publicly by Microsoft, or is it something upon which a user must stumble, like I did ? First time I noticed this (a couple of months ago) was on a PC which had upgraded from earlier OS to Win 10, so I thought that it was an app preserved from the old OS. But yesturday, I found it in the same manner on a new PC which had shipped with Win 10. What you do (at first) is click the '3 lines' button near the top right in Edge (BTW, Edge has a horrible UI, IMNSHO, only rivaled by Chrome), and look down the menu which pops down. One of the choices is to open the current page in IE, which if you try it, turns out to be IE11. Then, if you decide that you want direct access to IE11, you open File Explorer, browse to Program Files and next to the IE folder, create a shortcut to the IE app .EXE file on your desktop, and from there can pin it to the task bar if you wish.
