Lately, the wuauserv service has been taking lots of CPU % and temps on laptop CPU have risen..
Doesn't seem to be doing anything (No downloads occurring) but it's still running...and eating up Processes... continually
I've stopped the service, and things return to normal (Greater System Idle Process % ---- Less CPU Temps) ......... until next bootup....
I thought I had a solution by using the command line: net stop wuauserv
Except that prevents Microsoft Security Essentials from updating... Which doesn't seem to happen when I manually stop the service....
Seeing that I know when Patch Tuesday is..... I know when to manually let Windows Update: wuauserv go..... and do it's thing...
Anybody know of a way to stop wuauserv on every bootup without limiting MSE from updating?
PS: W10 is not an option :)!
