Just turned on a new computer and it's setting up Windows. The operating system is Microsoft Windows 10 home. The version is 10.0.10586 build 10586.
Running Windows update and it is showing me that it's getting updates for Windows 10 version 15114 x64-based systems.
I recall that the anniversary edition is version 1 607. I was able to get it on my old computer the very first day that it came out using Windows update and my partner got it a few days ago using Windows update on a different computer.
After installing the anniversary edition the update history is blank. It's like having a new Windows installation. And it took a couple of hours to complete that upgrade on the other computers.
So I'm just wondering why this new computer with Windows 10 is downloading updates to version 1511 rather than just downloading the new version of Windows 1607 instead? Is it supposed to install all prior updates to windows before it gets the new version?
