Sister-in-Law's machine had lots of corrupted data after multiple power failures and long use with kids and "know-nothing-abt-computers" parents I figured it was easier to just backup their data and start over.
So I install win7 and it immediately finds 144 updates, then 5 more, 5 more after that, and finally 1 more, and it says it is up to date.
I figured I had better check one more time so it finds SP1 to install. Lovely after that gets installed there will be more updates!
Sure enough 45 more, reboot, then 5, reboot, then one, and I bet when I get home tonight and have it check one more time there will be another batch to install.
My mistake for forgetting to install SP1 as soon as windows and drivers were installed. I really do think that roll-ups and service packs should be installed FIRST if they are missing then fill in any gaps after that rather than simply running through updates by historical listing.
