I just saw another browser market share diagram today and decided to post. IMO these statistics don't make a lot of sense. Why? Because too often user doesn't make informed decision about the browser used (or they may not even realize they are not using the browser they think they use).
At least on Windows too often software you install offers you to install another browser and by default "Yes" is checked. Just yesterday I was installing Adobe Flash for IE and it suggested I install Chrome as my default browser. That, of course, is because Google paid Adobe a lot of money or had some other "mutually beneficial" agreements with them.
I personally use Firefox and it seems to me that Google/Chrome is the biggest abuser of that. And, surely enough, Chrome's market share is the biggest.
I can't recall last time I had Firefox forced on me. Apple did try to force Safari for while whenever I did QuickTime Update but since Apple stopped hosting movie trailers in 1080P I don't have QuickTime installed anymore.
I think browser market share is artificially skewed towards the Chrome by forced/bundled installing. What do you think?
