So, I am on Amazon Cloud with 250,000 song limit. Woot!
However I still want to use my free Google play account for sharing tunes with friends.
I don't care if one day someone does something to adversely affect that account because I created it as a throwaway just for music. No personal info etc...
The issue I had was this:
I was synching with my iTunes library which worked just fine.
Now I am over the 20K song limit so I needed to selectively upload only the stuff I want to share.
Sure, I could edit my playlist but I want all of my music on my iPod so that would not work.
I changed how Play uploads music from Playlist to Folder.
I did not want to have to manually pick and choose artist folders one by one for obvious reasons.
So, the solution was to tell Play to watch a folder.
I redirected the output from a DIR command on my Music folder and threw it in a spreadsheet.
After some cell formulas I was left with a MKLINK command for each folder and I can paste the whole thing in a CMD file after deleting rows corresponding to artists I don't want on Play.
Ran the script and it created symlinks in the watched folder.
Google Play took it and uploaded only those artists.
Easy Peasy.
