What happened to Microsoft's own forums?

I wanted to ask a question in Microsoft Windows 8 forum. What did Microsoft do? The format is horrible now and there apparently are no forums for various versions of Windows! http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home If I click on " Ask a Question" apparently I can choose Archived forums, Academic Initiatives, Corporate Membership, Dynamics, Learning, Machine Translation and Language Tools, Microsoft Money, Phone and a few other esoteric or non-existent things (like Microsoft Money).
