With the news that MS is killing support for XP, April 8, 2014, plus other issues with my XP install, I'm planning to upgrade to Windows 7. My rig does say it can run W8, but I'm less then happy with the whole thing and think W7 is the best idea for my aged rig.
I'm looking to wipe out the entire OS part of my system and put in a fresh copy of W7 32bit, but to keep all my data. Videos, documents, music, etc.
I use Acronis TI 2013, build 6514
Would I be able to back up my data, wipe and install W7 on my drive and then put back the back up of my data, so I'd have all my files?
I have an Intel Pentium D 830 processor running at 3Ghz
320GB internal HD and 1TB external
3.24GB RAM (Out of 4GB installed)
Nvidia 7800GT GFX card.
Let me know if I need to post anything else.
