I regularly use Macs but in my office there is a computer that is used like a server. that computer crapped out and I bought a simple HP computer. It has Windows 8 on it. It was running well for a few days and then one morning I came in and it was off and then I restarted it and got a message after booting up that there was a problem. The screen talked about a memory dump. I didn't think anything of it and then a few days later the same thing happened. I then downloaded "whocrashed" and it tells me that there is an issue with Ntoskrnl.exe. I googled it and that file seems like an important windows file. I'm not used to using Windows. Can someone help me out and tell me what I can do to fix this problem? On Sat 11/30/2013 5:58:42 AM GMT your computer crashed crash dump file: C:\windows\Minidump\113013-24531-01.dmp This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x5A440) Bugcheck code: 0x9F (0x3, 0xFFFFFA8005DBF060, 0xFFFFF801224E78F0, 0xFFFFFA800B9C0010) Error: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE file path: C:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System company: Microsoft Corporation description: NT Kernel & System Bug check description: This bug check indicates that the driver is in an inconsistent or invalid power state. This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem. The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time.
