Hi...
I can not find a way to restrict access to my Window shares and only allow certain ip numbers access. I believe I should be able to do this via firewall rules...
I have a small network at home of two Windows 7 Home Premium and two Ubuntu computers. The two Ubuntu computers host the shares/printer and using Linux firewall rules I can only allow certain ip numbers to my shares.
ie : from a terminal session as root
sudo ufw allow from 192.168.0.0/16 to any app Samba
I am thinking of replacing one of the Linux computers with Windows 7 as I have the three user Windows 7 family pack. And I would like to replicate only allowing certain ips to my shares on Windows.
The reason for moving from Linux to Windows is I would also like to use the computer as a render node as I also do 3D rendering (Vue Complete 2014) and the node software will not run under wine on Linux.
Thanks kindly
