Does this error apply to Windows 8 Pro? WMP just abruptly closed while I was playing music and Microsoft sent me to an error page for Windows 7. The instructions don't apply to IE10. I only have two Microsoft plugins and Flash and Java. The error message says all plugins were disabled as a precaution. NONE were disabled. I went ahead and disabled Flash and I'll see if WMP does or doesn't crash.
