This issue is driving me crazy. If this is a repost or if you know of a fix, then PLEASE post a link or tell me the answer.
Let us say I am listening to streaming audio. The default is to sleep after a few minutes by turning off the screen and sleeping the computer. Sure I can change the settings to a few hours, but sometimes I just want to listen to a few songs and would prefer the computer to sleep to save energy. Other times I want to listen for multiple hours, so I do not want the computer to sleep at all. Turning off the screen is okay if I am not using it, but do not shut off the audio.
Is there a way to just set Windows 8.1 to sleep only when the computer is not doing anything?
It is not as though this is some strange concept. Other versions of Windows had the option to just shut the screen off but the audio and other background tasks would continue. How is this done in Windows 8.1?
Thanks.
