Here's a quirk I've been noticing in 8.1 - my mouse pointers have been occasionally changing to the Windows Default (system scheme) after starting up or coming out of sleep. I prefer them to be the Windows Default extra large system scheme (easier for me to see) and have set them as such (Apply>OK). I've even saved the set under a new name as "Mine" and applied that, but the pointer still switches back to the smaller arrow, and when I open up the mouse pointer personalization window, it shows as the current screen is "none".
It doesn't seem to happen every time (I haven't actually pinpointed exactly if it is a cold start or sleep that is the culprit, because I'll put the computer into sleep but if it is sleeping too long, it seems to shut down). And frankly, sometimes I don't notice it immediately and then I do a double-take. I don't have anything like Windowblinds installed, just Classic Shell for the Start menu only.
Anyone else notice anything like this?
I'm giving the other extra-large pre-installed schemes a try to see if that happens with them too, or if it is isolated to the Default extra-large one. I'm now trying out the Windows Standard extra-large system scheme.
