Question for those using UAC on Windows 7 and above.

I recently re-formatted laptop (running W7 Home Premium) for my neighbors and set them up as regular user with UAC enabled (previously they were Administrators with UAC enabled). The reason for re-format was virus infection. Today they told me Windows is asking to update some programs but because I explained they shouldn't just click "Yes" to anything they asked me to take a look. One of them was Adobe Reader update. When I answered "Yes" for update request UAC required me to enter Administrator user name and Password (different account than they use for regular usage) and after I did upgrade completed without issues. Second one was HP software update for their printer. It mentioned 3 updates were available. When I answered "Yes" for update request UAC required me to enter Administrator user name and Password and after I did upgrade downloaded and installed first update successfully and then failed before the start of the second update. I am fairly confident this was because HP software didn't deal with UAC properly - most likely if I was asked for Admin User Name/Password again the process would complete. So the outcome is software installation didn't complete successfully. I am now considering to start using UAC on my desktop (where UAC has always been off) and would like to get some feedback from people who had been using it for a while. Do you often experience software update or software itself not working correctly because of UAC these days? It would be somewhat excusable right after UAC was introduced years ago in Windows Vista but these days I find it unacceptable, especially on behalf of companies like HP. EDIT: on my desktop I use account that is a member of Administrators group (non-domain environment).
