Well I tried to update Windows 8.1 and I downloaded from the store. As it was downloading, I let it download and I came back later. When I turn my monitor on, I got a black screen with my mouse only show, I saw no progress bar or percentage bar at all, in fact I let it sit there for awhile and I seen no change at all.
I then had no choice but to restart my PC.
It then stated it was reverting back to the pervious windows, and after that it rebooted, and came up with a restore option, which I had no choice but to click restore button.
After letting it sit for awhile, everything was back to normal and no problems as all of my stuff is back with my apps and games.
I ran the Windows Upgrade Assistant which only showed me 6 programs which were apps and games. No drivers. In fact, all of my drivers it showed in the list were compatible.
Now I spoke with MS support but little help. One of them had me clear the store cache, but now I am kind of afraid to even touch 8.1 and install it.
I guess I was lucky to get everything back.
Which is why I came here, maybe someone has an idea or a suggestion as to what I can or could do to get 8.1 on my system. Or is it just in a nut shell of taking a chance and hoping it will work.
As I am googling the internet I see a lot of woes with the install and after where the screen goes black.
And ideas or thoughts? Thanks guys :)
