Hello,
I'm having some file permissions problems in Windows 7. Here's what I'm trying to do:
I've installed an SSD (256GB ADATA SX900) along side my HDD (2TB Hitachi-something). I proceeded to unplug the HDD and do a complete fresh install of W7 (64B) on the SSD. I've installed most of my important programs on the SSD, however things like my Steam library and music will remain on the HDD. Once plugged back in, the HDD's Program Files folder and Users folder cannot be accessed by my SSD's W7 installation. I've read somewhere that it has to do with permissions. Here's the catch: I'd reassign the permissions BUT I would like to leave the HDD's installation intact (i.e. not "messed up" or with missing permissions) in case the SSD is to fail. In the event that it would, I'd just boot to the HDD and be back in business immediately. I don't wanna end up breaking the file permissions on the HDD side. Is there anything I can do?
Thanks.
