We are using a networked (local/Intranet) dot net application in a small office on Windows 8.1 machines. Today, our Internet was down for some time and that application just locked up. Is it possible? Can this be prevented? The vendor claims that the application does not need a Internet connection. I have blocked port 80 in the office and in normal conditions the application does work that way. All machines have static IP addresses and are connected to a switch that connects to a router. The application uses mysql back-end on one of the machines. BTW Other than this specific application, everything else on that machine was running.
