I'm confused. For a long time, Windows audio drivers were WDM. It is my understanding that WDM drivers have been replaced by KMDF drivers in Windows 7 and later. 1) Is that correct? 2) If it is correct, is there such a thing as WDM drivers for Windows 7?
My question is in connection with Skype, which does not recognize ASIO drivers. A soundcard that is to be used with Skype must have compatible Windows drivers, such as WDM or KMDF.
