IE issues since last update

Not sure to post this in the Security forum or here, since it relates to IE but seems to be due to last update. Win 8.1, IE11. Suddenly, many pages (not all, not DSLR!) have stopped loading. Some research shows that MS issues a hotfix for a very specific issue with this update: pages with "classic ASP" don't load, but it's hard to believe that almost every link I'm clicking in an email fails to load, and sites like retail stores, makeuseof, etc. don't load, even when I type in the URL. IE has become unusable. Anyone else? Any fixes? Don't want to install a hotfix for ASP since that doesn't seem to be the issue. BTW, using Firefox, the sites load just fine. EDIT: I went ahead and uninstalled the latest "Cumulative Update for Internet Explorer 11" and after reboot, tried one of the sites that was giving me trouble and it loaded, though I haven't surfed enough to be sure the problem is gone. But it looks like it might indeed have been that update, so it would be interesting if anyone else is seeing problems (other than the issue MS mentions about breaking ASP, which I don't think is affecting me). THE KICKER is that the update KB# I uninstalled had a different number (KB3104002) than the one mentioned in the latest Bulletin, which I was NOT offered. Weird. Now when I check the MS page about the KB, I see the different KB number, but under "component" it has the number I got and uninstalled, so maybe I'm not understanding how they number these. -- The truth of a thing is the feel of it, not the think of it. -- Stanley Kubrick
