I just got my first Win 10 box and am puzzled by two "features". I installed Firefox, which the installer dutifully put into the start menu with a name of "Mozilla Firefox" which obviously sorted under the ""M" group. However nobody I know uses the full name, so I went into c:\program data\Microsoft\windows\startup\programs and renamed it to just plain "Firefox".
I assumed Windows would create an "F" group and move the shortcut there, but it remains at the bottom of my "M" group on the menu. Is there something else I have to rename to regroup it with the "F" programs?
Secondly, some installers created program subgroups when all I want / need is the icon for the main program. I can drag and drop what I need via Explorer, either in \Program Data\ or the User specific start menu, but even if I delete the subfolder with the other programs it still appears on the start menu. What do I have to kill to make it go away for good?
